Description

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Program Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with youth and will be responsible for branch programming, youth program quality and branch operations.

This is a full-time hourly position working with small to large groups of youth. The Club Experience, provides over 31,000 youth each year with a safe, positive environment, supportive relationships, and opportunities to build the courage to dream. We nurture academic success, healthy lifestyles, good character, and workforce readiness.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Branch Programming:

  • Accountable for providing age appropriate services and activities to meet the needs of enrolled members
  • Accountable for creating a college and workforce culture
  • Accountable for creating atmosphere of academic success
  • Accountable for creating atmosphere of health and fitness
Youth Program Quality:
  • Accountable for fidelity of curriculum
  • Accountable for quality programming and activities
  • Accountable for implementing YPQ techniques
Branch Operations:
  • Accountable for performance and achieving goals
  • Accountable for accurate and timely documentation and reporting
  • Facility and Child Safety
  • Accountable for adherence to all organizational health and safety policies and implementation of all safety practices and procedures at assigned work location(s)
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect members, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities. Abide by facility maintenance protocols and procedures to ensure compliance
  • Accountable for reporting incidents and completing documentation within required timeline
  • Maintain discipline, de-escalate conflict between members and/or others
  • Obtain and renew CPR and First Aid certification by deadline
Administrative Compliance:
  • Complete all required reports and administrative duties on time.
  • Collect and manage required data and internal and external reporting. Ensure accuracy of data and reporting. Ensure the effective completion of all assessment and measurement activities of programs
  • Accountable for accurate and timely collection and review of membership application
  • Comply with all administrative policies and procedures, processes and controls
  • Accountable for accurate and timely paperwork, reports, and data entry
  • Accountable for utilizing all BGCGTC communication tools regularly and effectively
Requirements

Education and work experience requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year experience working with youth
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to work regular program hours with periodic evenings, nights and weekends
  • Ability to be a positive role model
  • Ability to establish rapport and build relationships
  • Ability to set expectations and boundaries
  • Ability to relate to at-risk youth
  • Ability to facilitate, teach, or instruct
  • Ability to create programs and activities based need
  • Efficient with computers and Microsoft office; Knowledge of technology and software such as iPad, tablets, computers and internet
  • Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
  • Must be able to pass agency background screens and drug screen at any time
  • Position requires driving personal vehicle. Candidates must have satisfactory driving record and a valid driver's license for operation of a motor vehicle relevant to carrying out duties and to be covered under the company insurance the requirement is for employee to be a minimum of age 21.

  • Bilingual
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge of learning styles
  • Knowledge of healthy lifestyle such as nutrition, sports and exercise
  • Work experience with or program knowledge of the Boys & Girls Club Movement (national and/or local Club) is an advantage
Salary & Benefits:
  • Minimum starting pay: $15.95 per hour
