Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Business Unit Controller to join our client's team in Charlotte, NC. This role is crucial for overseeing all aspects of inventory and job costing within a company that has a rich history of designing, building, servicing, and supplying car washes for over five decades.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee inventory accounting, including standard costing, valuations, transfers, reserves, and physical counts.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls for inventory management.
  • Work closely with operations and purchasing teams to ensure accurate inventory data and cost allocations.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance job costing systems, including cost allocations, variance analyses, and reporting.
  • Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs, preparing detailed reports for management review.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in inventory and job costing activities.
Requirements Include:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in a senior accounting role, with a strong emphasis on inventory and job costing.
  • Skills: Proficient in GAAP and accounting software (e.g., Sage, NetSuite).
  • Certifications: CPA preferred.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of inventory accounting and job costing processes.
  • Key Competencies: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and excellent communication skills.
Additional Information: This office-based position offers flexible working hours between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, in Charlotte, NC. The role includes occasional travel to other company locations and suppliers as necessary.
