CHA Dietitians are experts in food and love eating real food. Every dietitian is licensed by the state, has a degree in nutrition and passed a board exam. They maintain their skills through continuing education. Many of our team members have areas of specialty. These include Master's Degrees, Certified Nutrition Support, Certified Diabetes Educator, Adult and Pediatric Weight management, Yoga Certifications or Personal Training.
Responsibilities: Assesses nutritional status by reviewing/interpreting medical, nutrition, medication hx; vital signs, anthropometrics, lab findings, symptoms, lifestyle/culture. Calculates nutrient intakes as appropriate. Assesses/monitor drug/nutrient interaction. Develop/implement individual nutrition care plan based on assessment data and Practice Guidelines. Monitors changes in outcomes: vital signs, anthro/labs, dietary intake symptoms, activity, behavior. Documents legibly in medical record. Documents pertinent intervention information on patient data or perinatal card for nutrition office use. Accurately maintains monthly statistics reports. Accurately documents the initial and ongoing assessment of the patients nutritional status and progress as determined by department policies and procedures. Confers/coordinates care with health team: medical record, consult forms, clinical meetings, rounds, etc. Makes recommendations regarding changes in treatment within Practice Guidelines Assists in development and leads nutrition related groups. Participates in CQI/QI data collection and implementation. Collaborate/coordinate with WIC programs. Work with other staff to assist patients in obtaining food assistance. Serve as nutrition resource to site staff and community agencies. Assist in the development of culturally appropriate educational material as assigned. Assist with clinical supervision of students. Follows Ambulatory Nutrition policies/procedures as identified in Cambridge Health Alliance Ambulatory Nutrition Services Manual. Assists with program planning and implementation for specific population groups - geriatrics, pediatrics, weight management, eating disorders, etc. Acts as departmental & CHA resource in area of expertise.
Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree required. Maintains current Dietetic Registration (RD/RDN). Experience in community and medical nutrition therapy post internship preferred. Valid MA license as dietitian/nutritionist (LDN)
