SUMMARY

As Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing cost estimates and all associated documents for estimating the cost, necessary resources, and schedule of construction projects. You will estimate work by analyzing plans, specifications, proposals, quotes, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, equipment, and labor estimates for products, projects, and/or services while applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principals, and processes.

  • Work with Development Team on bid process and lead the implementation of Procore bid.
  • Work with Development Team on preparing project budgets.
  • Analyze drawings and specifications
  • Understand contractual terms and conditions
  • Assemble accurate and well-organized estimates and proposals in a timely manner for stipulated price, design-build, and construction/project management formatted projects
  • Provide clear detailed quantity take offs
  • Compile and maintain unit pricing and database for material, labor and square foot costs
  • Utilize historical data, industry knowledge and estimation software to accurately forecast costs for materials, labor, equipment, and overhead expenses accurately
  • Work with our construction teams, project managers, procurement teams and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure accurate estimations
  • Manage project documents, interact with suppliers and vendors to acquire competitive pricing for materials and equipment, establishing and maintaining relationships to obtain the best possible rates
  • Identify potential risks and uncertainties impacting project costs and propose mitigation strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness
  • Prepare comprehensive and detailed cost estimates, proposals and budgets, including breakdowns of various project components, assumptions and contingencies
  • Stay updated with industry trends, pricing fluctuations and technological advancements to enhance estimation accuracy and efficiency
  • Work with development team on handoff transition to construction. Project management duties for project startup as needed.
  • Assist with permitting and other preconstruction objectives as needed.
  • Attend Preconstruction/Prebid meetings and jobsite locations to establish accurate cost estimate forecasts (preferred, not required)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Thorough understanding of general contracting and the life cycle of a construction project.
  • Demonstrated skills in organizing and evaluating information and proactively finding solutions.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and a desire to participate as part of a team.
  • Proficient in the use of computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, project scheduling applications, Procore project management software, email etc.
  • High attention to detail.
  • High sense of urgency and ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks.
