Overview:

Position provides technical support to quality engineering function and assists in developing quality procedures and practices. Assists in identifying root cause/corrective action and participates in Continuous Improvement/Kaizen activities. Assists with inspector and operator training, teaching, and coaching. Conducts quality audits and documents results in audit database. Assists in maintaining gages and inspection equipment including calibration of equipment. It is important to remember that this is a startup company so your assistance may be required in other areas at any given time.

Responsibilities:

• Performs visual, dimensional, and functional testing & inspection.

• Must be able to interpret and follow established quality procedures and documents.

• Inspecting and testing the materials and equipment produced

• Accepting or rejecting finished products and discussing inspection results with the production team.

• Recommends any necessary adjustments and changes to production process • Documents inspection results in database.

• Coaches, teaches, and trains inspectors and operators in established methods and procedures. • Help develop and maintain 5S standards plant wide, including auditing

• Be aware of potential and unsafe conditions throughout the facility

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

• Minimum 2 years Quality Technician experience

• Attention to detail, time management skills and meeting deadlines

• Basic knowledge of how to read and interpret drawings

• Experience drafting reports and collecting data

• Ability to demonstrate usage of measuring devices (caliper, microper, microscope, thickness gage, CMM, and many others)

• High level of visual awareness

• Ability to work independently/ advanced organizational skills

• Demonstrated experience in being a self-starter.

• Ability to learn ERP/database software.

• Proficient with Microsoft Suite products

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Quality Management or related field

• Between 2-3 years in a manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements:

• Required to push, pull, lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds

• Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
