Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Emergency Room (ER) Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, Every Other Weekend Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week Experience: Minimum 2+ Years of Experience Required License: Michigan RN License Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA) Must-Have: - Skills Checklist pertinent to the specialty, current to within 1 year- 2 Supervisory References taken within the last two years- Candidates' Permanent Address is required (subject to residency radius restrictions) Job Description: - Function primarily in direct patient care while demonstrating competent clinical practice.- Triage patients, obtain patient history and vital signs, and conduct patient assessments.- Act independently to initiate immediate care in life-threatening situations in the absence of a physician.- Provide care for both acutely ill and non-acute patients.- Perform multiple procedures utilizing both complex and simple nursing skills, and assist physicians with their procedures.- Provide comfort, both physical and psychological, to patients, their families, and visitors.- Deliver discharge and follow-up instructions to patients and families.- Respond to ambulance radios and give appropriate orders for pre-hospital care without assistance.- Work with multiple types of sophisticated equipment and handle various types of patients in a frequently stressful environment.- Note: Local candidates who live within 50 miles can be considered for one 13-week contract, after which they are expected to transition to a permanent position, following the residency radius restriction.
