Benefits Specialist Permanent Opportunity Braintree

SUMMARY: The Benefits Operations and Retirement Plan Specialist is responsible for supporting the Benefits Director in administering the various benefit programs offered to the 3,500+ current benefit eligible employees. Benefit plans for current employees include medical, prescription, dental, life and long-term disability insurance, transition assistance, 401(k), and a custom paid family and medical leave program. The position is primarily on-site at the corporate headquarters in Braintree with the option to eventually work remotely one day per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the administration of the 401(k) Plan by reviewing payroll and 401(k) recordkeeper reports to determine necessary 401(k) corrections, review Plan distributions for compliance with Plan requirements, draft communications related to the marketing and administration of the Plan, field inquiries from employees, and perform other related tasks as needed.
  • Organize and execute the annual open enrollment process for medical and dental plans.
  • Manage data-intensive projects for recurring tasks (such as annual notice mailings) and communication initiatives, using Excel, multiple databases, and other information sources.
  • Oversee administration of supplemental benefits (including FSA, supplemental life insurance, and vision plan) including enrollment changes and annual open enrollment.
  • Oversee mailings for prescription claims paid after termination, CVS Maintenance Choice program, and HealthEquity claim substantiation.
  • Complete monthly self-billing for life, LTD, and stop loss coverage.
  • Assist with ongoing data scrubs and tactical changes in process or communications as needed.
  • Respond to inbound calls and emails from employees and location administrators regarding benefits issues and coordinate with vendors as necessary.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field. PHR or SPHR a plus.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Strong Microsoft skills, particularly in Excel and Word.
  • Experience with online payroll and benefit enrollment systems and/or the administration of a 401(k) Plan a plus.
  • 2+ years of benefit plan administration and HCM experience, or equivalent experience in a multi-faceted role.
  • HIPAA compliance training preferred.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, sometimes with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, work efficiently, and transition from task to task while maintaining focus.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues.
  • Experience in handling and producing confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to support the corporate mission.
