This position works closely with the Infrastructure and Cloud Manager to establish and manage strategies, policies, architectural frameworks, and guidelines for the use of Cloud platforms and associated technologies. This position will additionally coordinate with Cloud consumers and Cloud-centric organizations to advise, develop, and deploy cloud architectures, solutions and services that achieve business and technical requirements meeting the necessary level of quality and risk-free standards. Also, this position will work closely with representatives of broader Corporate and Global Business Units. The position will additionally also provide technical direction and team leadership, with the necessary guidance to support a Cloud focused team responsible for Platform Engineering and deployment. Responsibilities Establish the strategic roadmap and creation of an Application/Solution Platform delivery organization; encompassing the key functions that are pivotal to the definition, deployment and operational needs of Cloud services and solutions. Build tight collaborative relationships with internal functions; Information Security / Governance / Compliance, Identity and Access Management, Datacenter Operations, Network services, etc. as well as external entities like Microsoft, Oracle, Hashicorp, etc. Document and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines on the use of Cloud platforms and associated technologies. Design, document, and coordinate the implementation of the cloud infrastructure with the expected focus on quality, sustainability, support, and operability. Perform architectural assessments for new cloud / SaaS / hybrid solutions. Analyze existing internal workloads and provide recommendations on cloud migration strategies. Educate teams and foster adoption of cloud native application patterns to migrate applications. Attend requirements gathering sessions and support the design of innovative solutions based on emerging technologies. As needed, perform research, and provide technical guidance across the multitude of services available in our core Cloud environments of Azure, OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) and AWS (Amazon Web Services). Qualifications and Skills Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience, or in lieu of degree, extensive years of experience. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Additional Qualifications Excellent communication skills, including writing and presentation experience, and reviewing technical documentation. Broad understanding of the technology stack including network and server infrastructure and protocols and associated application technologies including databases, web, and analytics elements. Experience in managing and designing infrastructure in a mid-large sized company or. multi-location company, preferred. Has a strong interest in continuously learning and understanding the newest technologies and how they can be integrated into Bechtel infrastructure. Experience in designing and managing cloud services in Microsoft Azure and OCI or Amazon Web Services.
