Specific Responsibilities:

  • Conducts interviews of patients entering care for maternity, family planning or STDs completes the requires maternity forms.

  • Notify nursing supervisor and or provider of any abnormalities or concerns discovered during the interview.

  • Provides patient education on health issues being discussed.

  • Assist the physician and other providers in the examination of patients.

  • Instructs patients in proper technique of collection of specimens. Properly prepares, labels, packages, and send specimens to the laboratory.

  • Checks, cleans, and restocks examination rooms to ensure they are ready for each day

  • Assists with Health Support Technician duties as needed.

  • Assists in notifying patients of future appointments or new appointments to discuss results with provider.

  • Assist in preparation of records for clinics, laboratory results and provider consultation. Track client's loss of care, follow up with missed appointments and sends out letters.

  • Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hour or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
