Your New Role
Angel Design Build Construction LLC is seeking a certified Cost Estimator, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimating for private and federal construction projects, preferably in a design-build environment. As a key project management team member, you will be responsible for developing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for various design-build projects, ranging from initial concept to project completion. Your expertise will ensure that our projects are financially viable, competitively priced, and aligned with client expectations and company objectives.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
  • Cost Estimation:
    • Develop detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
    • Prepare preliminary and detailed estimates from architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
    • Analyze project plans and specifications to understand scope and requirements.
  • Bid Preparation:
    • Prepare bid proposals and respond to RFPs (Requests for Proposals) and RFQs (Requests for Quotations).
    • Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
  • Cost Analysis:
    • Perform cost analysis and value engineering to provide cost-effective solutions.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential risks in the project lifecycle.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the design team to ensure cost-effective design solutions.
    • Liaise with clients to clarify project specifications and address any cost-related concerns.
    • Collaborate with project managers to monitor actual costs versus estimated costs and update estimates, as necessary.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of estimated and actual project costs.
    • Prepare and present detailed cost reports and summaries to senior management and clients.
What You will Need:
  • Certification: A Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimating for construction projects, preferably in a design-build environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Relevant experience with the development of cost estimates will be considered in place of a degree.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in cost estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Sage Estimating, RSMeans, Bluebeam, etc.).
    • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
    • Excellent communication and people skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
    • Meticulous with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Knowledge: Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and market conditions.
