Position Summary

Join an innovative team to ride the rapidly-evolving and highly dynamic wave of AI, ML, and Generative AI. We are seeking a Data Engineer with foundational knowledge of Power BI, SQL, and data pipelines to help support and develop our data infrastructure. As part of our dynamic team, you will assist in building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines that integrate various data sources into our Microsoft Fabric environment. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, communicate effectively, and grow in their role while supporting data operations and ensuring data quality.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

* Assist in the development and maintenance of ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric under the guidance of senior engineers.
* Help integrate data from various sources (on-premises and cloud platforms) into data lakes, warehouses, and lakehouses.
* Monitor and support data pipelines to ensure consistent data flow and assist in troubleshooting basic issues.
* Validate data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality across multiple systems.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data architects and business analysts, to understand data needs and assist in developing solutions.
* Contribute to data governance, security, and compliance efforts in line with best practices.
* Document data processes, technical workflows, and basic troubleshooting steps.
* Support senior team members in optimizing data pipelines for performance and scalability.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
* Basic knowledge of SQL and Power BI for data analysis and reporting.
* Familiarity with data pipelines and an eagerness to learn about building and maintaining ETL/ELT processes.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot basic data pipeline issues.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
* Ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly and work in a collaborative team environment.

DESIRED

* Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, or other data engineering tools.
* Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and data integration techniques.
* Exposure to data governance, security practices, and best practices for managing data pipelines.
* Experience with Agile or Scrum development methodologies is a plus.
* Knowledge of Power BI for reporting and dashboard creation.
* Any relevant certifications in data engineering or Power BI are a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS

* Basic SQL skills for querying and data manipulation.
* Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
* Ability to troubleshoot basic data pipeline issues and resolve them with guidance from senior team members.
* Attention to detail to ensure data integrity and quality.
* Strong desire to learn and grow within the data engineering field.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Additional Information

This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
