Job Description

The Systems Administrator II works independently and under moderate supervision, and provides first level customer support. Responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure, within established service level agreements. Serves as an escalation point to level I analysts for more complex or time consuming incidents. Manages incidents and service requests through established incident and request fulfillment processes. Provides feedback as part of ongoing process improvement activities. Works to automate manual processes. Leads small technical teams as necessary. Trains level I analysts on new processes and technologies. Elevates complex problems to level III analysts in a professional fashion.

Responsibilities

  • Incident Management: Acts as a primary point of contact for incidents and service requests as reported from customers, system monitoring and alerts.
  • Problem Management: Helps ensure that documented and standardized methods and processes are developed and used for efficient and permanent resolution of problems identified by the Problem Management Process.
  • Technical Support: Under minimal supervision, provides first level technical support.
  • Department Operations: Assists in operational requirements of IT systems administration.
  • Communication & Documentation: As directed prepares required documentation and communicates in a professional manner.
Qualifications

Minimum Education
  • Associates Degree Three years of related experience maybe considered in lieu of degree, Other related field Required
Minimum Work Experience
  • 4-6 years IT systems administration experience Required
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills, comfortable in interacting within all levels of the organization.
  • Must have troubleshooting skills in a 24/7 environment.
  • Ability to follow defined processes and procedures.
  • Ability to train others.
  • Ability to work independently to carry out special projects
