Job Description:

Daily Tasks:

The purpose of the Network Technician is to provide network engineering and implementation activities in support of business needs align with the appropriate and established IT infrastructure standards. This individual will ensure the consistent delivery of quality, cost effective and on time goals to meet IS and business goals.

What will this person be working on

Systematically manage information relating to the documentation, software, hardware and firmware network assets.

Control and manage network services and their availability to ensure that all services meet all of their agreed availability targets.

Manage the capability and functionality of hardware, software and network components to meet current and predicted needs in a cost-effective manner. Deal with both long-term changes and short-term variations in the level of demand.

Manage all changes to the components of a live infrastructure, from requests for change (RFC) through to implementation and review, to support the continued availability, effectiveness and safety of the infrastructure.

Resolve incidents and problems in your technology lifecycle, including classification, prioritization and initiation of action, documentation of root causes and implementation of remedies. Report on problem and countermeasure status as requested.

Day-to-day support, operation and control of all equipment within the IT network infrastructure. Includes configuration backup and restore, production of network performance statistics, provision of network diagnostic information and site surveys.

Position Success Criteria (Desired) - 'WANTS'

Bachelor's degree and related work experience

3-5 years (level II)

Knowledge of complex network routing, switching, virtualization, load balancing, datacenter technologies.

CCNP or higher certification (desired)

Collaboration skills with various IT technology pillars and business users

Strong design and presentation skills

Strong communication/people skills
