We are looking for Back End Software Engineers who are enthusiastic about integrating data with cutting-edge technologies. As a Software Engineer at Capital One, you'll play a pivotal role in spearheading significant transformations within our organization.

The Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) team is integral to many of Capital One’s core systems. We are committed to establishing best practices for technology solutions throughout the organization, while simultaneously delivering capabilities that showcase those practices.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead a diverse portfolio of technology projects and a team of skilled developers experienced in distributed microservices and full stack systems, creating solutions that fulfill regulatory requirements for the company.

  • Share your enthusiasm for staying current with technology trends, experimenting with new technologies, actively participating in both internal and external tech communities, mentoring fellow engineers, and occasionally evaluating or writing code.

  • Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust, cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans to achieve financial health.

  • Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, engage with Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, work with container orchestration services like Docker and Kubernetes, and leverage a variety of AWS tools and services.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience (not including internships).

  • At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing services (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree.

  • 7+ years of experience with at least one programming language such as Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js.

  • 2+ years working with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service.

  • 4+ years of experience with open source frameworks.

  • 1+ years of experience in a people management role.

  • 2+ years of experience in Agile methodologies.
