Job Summary:
The Enterprise Data Architect will be responsible for designing and managing the overall data architecture for the organization, ensuring that it aligns with business goals and IT strategies. This role involves leading the development and implementation of data models, data governance frameworks, and data management practices. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data architecture, a strong background in data management technologies, and the ability to translate business needs into effective data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the overall data architecture strategy, including data models, data flows, and data governance.
  • Design and implement scalable, high-performance data architectures that meet current and future business needs.
  • Lead the development of data models and data integration strategies to ensure seamless data flow across systems.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and data scientists to understand data requirements and ensure data architecture aligns with business objectives.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures, including data quality, data lineage, and metadata management.
  • Evaluate and recommend data management technologies, tools, and platforms that align with organizational goals.
  • Ensure data architecture supports advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to data engineers, data analysts, and other IT team members on data architecture best practices.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of data systems and recommend improvements as needed.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or other industry standards.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data architecture and management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data integration, and data governance principles.
  • Experience with data management technologies, including relational databases, data warehousing, ETL tools, and big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, PowerDesigner) and database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and data integration tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with data governance frameworks and data security best practices.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring technical teams.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, DAMA, CDMP) are a plus.
