Reports to: Assistant Principal - High School
Work Schedule: 12 months/yr. 7:00am - 3:00pm
Work Days: 251

Summary of Position: This position maintains all financial records for the school activity accounts and education budget.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior bookkeeping/accounting experience preferred
  • Proficiency with computer applications i.e. Microsoft, Excel, Access and Outlook
  • Ability to learn new software quickly
  • Accuracy and attention to details

Essential Job Functions:
This position performs the duties below:
  • Collects and records all student fees and obligations
  • Maintains an accurate record of all activity and general accounts
  • Records purchase orders and maintains balance in the educational accounts
  • Processes fee waiver applications
  • Processes free/reduced lunch applications
  • Answers telephones, takes messages, and directs them to the correct office
  • Maintains petty cash account
  • Other duties as assigned


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
SKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment including pertinent software applications.

KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and understand complex, multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: professional telephone etiquette and computer software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, School-related software).

ABILITY is required to often gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing specific, defined processes; and operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with data of varied types and/or purposes; and utilize job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is moderate. Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: maintaining confidentiality; adapting to changing priorities; working with frequent interruptions; communicating with diverse groups; and displaying tact and courtesy.

Work Environment:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 90% sitting, 5% walking, and 5% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
