Paraprofessionals Needed In Wheaton, IL

ProCare Therapy is seeking dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessionals to join our team for the 2024-25 school year in Wheaton, IL. As a paraprofessional, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special needs, working closely with teachers, and ensuring that every student receives the support they need to succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in the classroom with instructional activities.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Support students in developing academic, social, and life skills.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as grading, attendance, and preparing materials.
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and document student progress and communicate with teachers and parents.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children, particularly in a school setting, is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    • Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children with special needs.
    • Basic understanding of child development and instructional techniques.
  • Certifications: Paraprofessional certification is required (or willingness to obtain before the start of the school year).
