Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated. Performs procedures and /mentors trains other providers Assesses patient/family needs and provides education. Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs. Consistently incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice. In-depth knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements. Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion. Often provides case management for patients and their families. Often serves as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials. Provides palliative care for the patient and their families as needed. As subject matter expert, promotes/provides staff education Covers MD vacations/MD EHR queue when physicians are on vacation Qualifications Nurse Practitioner Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program for nursing education Current Minnesota RN license and current certification as Nurse Practitioner Minimum of three years of experience as a practicing NP Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effect of a cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment strongly preferred Prefer previous experience in oncology Physician Assistant Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program Minimum of three years' experience as a practicing Physician Assistant Prefer previous experience in oncology Current MN state licensure and current CPR certification required Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effect of a cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment strongly preferred Additional Attributes: Strong analytical leadership Organizational skills Detail oriented Ability to multi-task PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
