Your Opportunity:

Varsity Spirit is looking for a Senior QA Analyst to join our Yearbook IT team in Memphis, TN, Indianapolis, IN, Dallas, TX, or remotely.

The ideal candidate will be an energetic and collaborative individual with demonstrated success implementing technology solutions in the QA and testing space. An outstanding performer with a demonstrated ability to get things done quickly and effectively. Must be comfortable working within a technical team to raise the bar by demonstrating quality assurance methods and practices in their day-to-day activities.

A Day in the Life
  • Work collaboratively with an Agile product delivery team to groom user stories, write testing specifications, execute tests, and identify and document software bugs.
  • Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback to product managers and technical leads.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
  • Implement testing procedures and oversee the QA process.
  • Conduct analysis checks on product specifications.
  • Review testing reports.
  • Ensure the successful deployment of products into the production environment.
  • Perform thorough regression testing during regular release cycles.
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts.
  • Meet with the software/product designers to determine quality assurance parameters.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
  • Responding to requests from the design team and management
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Significant experience with Agile methodologies, preferably Scrum
  • Experience with industry-standard testing and defect tracking tools, preferably Jira.
  • Strong ability to quickly adapt to a new solution or path.
  • Must have the ability to work independently or within a team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Action-oriented and works with a sense of urgency.
  • Must have strong leadership skills with the ability to lead project team members, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be a team player with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical skills, and sound judgment
Physical Demands and/or Work Environment
  • This is largely a sedentary role; however, some general office activities are required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, bending, standing, and walking, as necessary.
  • Unless working remotely, this job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Travel

Depending on your home location, some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected, up to four times each year.
