Key Job Elements:

The applications engineer is responsible for working closely with the sales team to review specifications and provide accurate quotes to customers. They also obtain initial price quotes for components and collect any necessary technical data for the customer. Additionally, they create order summaries, generate bills of materials, review drawings, and serve as the primary technical reviewer for PRMs, while also acting as the technical point person for new projects and markets to ensure accuracy in VOC designation.

Responsibilities:

The following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities that are expected of the Applications Engineer position; however, additional duties may be assigned, as required.

  • Work with sales team to review specs and provide accurate quotes to customers.
  • Obtain initial price quotes for components that need to be incorporated into jobs. (Final cost to customer must be approved by Justin and Chris.)
  • Collect any technical data required by the customer. (fan curves, etc.)
  • Create SOO’s, if necessary
  • Create Order Summary for the organization.
  • Generate Preliminary BOM for the organization
  • Review CSI generated BOM and edit as necessary.
  • After drawings are completed by engineering, review compared to quote, order summary, and BOM.
  • Pass all job specific technical data to project managers.
  • Answer questions from production and project managers related to jobs being built.
  • Serve as primary technical reviewer for PRM’s.
  • Perform as the technical point person for new projects/markets – i.e. cannabis, data centers, etc – to ensure accuracy in VOC designation with respect to unit “fit”
  • Perform overload activities for engineering when requested/approved

Education/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • Proven knowledge covering topics such as heating, cooling, air distribution, refrigeration, and energy management.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software is highly desirable.
  • A solid understanding of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
