WHAT YOU'LL DO
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Warehouse Manager to join our team at Mans Lumber & Home. This professional multitasker will oversee the receiving, handling, storing, picking, and loading activities within the warehouse, ensuring standards are met at every turn.
As a Warehouse Manager, you will demonstrate both passion and experience when managing a team. You will have the ability to determine areas of opportunity within your team and implement development plans that support the diverse strengths and capabilities of each individual. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a peculiar passion for attention to detail and an eye to process improvement.
THE NITTY GRITTY

- The Warehouse Manager things:
- Manage the full life cycle of all warehouse operations for Mans Lumber (Canton location)
- Support continuous improvement and coach a problem resolution mindset throughout team
- Provide consistent top-down communication, develop and support a team culture of both accountability and recognition
- Manager quality control of the warehouse through cycle count activities, inventory accuracy, and tracking of error occurrences
- Coach safety, quality, and performance productivity to ensure goals are met through following standardized work procedures
- Implement countermeasures within the warehouse: logical expected results and real time data supporting its effectiveness
- Coach, drive, reinforce the operating system that drives, and employee led lean distribution system where all team members can influence a better operation
- Interview, evaluate and hire, in partnership with Human Resources, team members, as needed, to ensure proper staffing levels during both peak and off-season periods
- Oversee product receiving, storage and shipping operations
- Arrange for repairs and maintenance of fleet, equipment, and warehouse
- Maintain current knowledge of all inventory items and their location(s)
- Manage inventory levels in conjunction with the purchasing manager and anticipate needs through interaction with the sales department
- Partner with dispatch and sales department to assist with any special needs (i.e. truck routing, staff distribution, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor's degree preferred; but not required
- Five (5+) years of industry or large warehouse experience
- Three (3+) years leadership/management experience is required due to the mentoring nature of this role
- Proven ability to build relationships, gain rapport quickly, and collaborate internally and externally
- Able to set and achieve goals, holding others accountable for the attainment of those goals
- Ability to flex in and out of managing multiple projects
- Consistently focused on doing great work that is highly accurate and demonstrates a strong attention to detail
- Continually manage time efficiently, with strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
- A strong steward of Mans culture and core values
- Recognized as an organizational leader - have commanding presence and are able to inspire/influence others
- Possess an inspiring presence internally and communicate ideas in a way that persuade others to buy-in and take-action (both written and verbal)
- Deep understanding of business acumen, a natural thinker
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record; reliable transportation is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional warehouse setting, exposed to weather elements.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is a very active role, often being on your feet for the duration of your workday. Mans Lumber is incredibly fast paced and therefore requires candidates to lift, bend, walk, and stand regularly.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (flexible), and Saturday from 8:00am until 3:00pm. Please note: this role is responsible for multiple shifts from 6:00am to 8:00pm and while the war
