Description

Purpose of the Role and Scope of Responsibility: This position provides essential administrative support to the Information Systems, Buildings and Grounds, and Public Safety Departments by managing the Help Desk, coordinating daily operations, ensuring smooth workflows, and facilitating communication across departments as needed. This position requires a combination of administrative expertise and a willingness to engage with technical tools and processes. It is more of an administrative role for the Information Systems Department than a technical role.

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the Help Desk, handling incoming requests via email or phone, logging work orders into Track-IT, and assigning them to the appropriate staff.
  • Manages daily operations of the Mail Room, including Shipping & Receiving, and ensuring adequate supplies are maintained.
  • Assists students and employees with basic technical requests such as password resets, printer setups, and capturing and transferring digital pictures.
  • Maintains accurate records of staff and faculty laptop check-outs and returns using Track-It software.
  • Prepare monthly reports on postage usage and other related metrics.
  • Oversees the assignment and management of employee mailboxes and maintains records of mailbox keys.
  • Coordinates the laptop lease program for students, including database management and handling requests for repairs.
  • Provides invoicing support for the Buildings & Grounds Department.
  • Manages and maintains mobile classroom laptop carts for general faculty use.
  • Oversees IS student workers and guides daily tasks.
  • Performs additional administrative duties as assigned to support department operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge/Education

Required: High School diploma, Office Productivity software training.

Preferred: Associate degree or specialized office automation/PC usage. Excellent customer service, communication, and organization skills.

Experience

Required: At least one year of administrative or clerical experience, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and general office tools.

Preferred: Two to four years of clerical experience, with knowledge of Microsoft Office and familiarity with website maintenance.

Licensure, Registration, Certification - None.

Note - Some evening and/or weekend hours will be required to participate in campus recruiting functions.
