HPC (High Performance Computing) Engineer

FT Position with our client in Cold Spring Harbor, NY

We are a forward-thinking technology organization seeking an experienced HPC Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will optimize and maintain our NVIDIA GPU-based high-performance computing infrastructure while collaborating with our technical teams to maximize computational efficiency.

HPC Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement optimizations for code running on GPU-based HPC clusters
  • Maintain and troubleshoot high-performance computing infrastructure
  • Collaborate with research teams to optimize their computational workflows
  • Provide technical guidance on GPU programming best practices
  • Monitor cluster performance and implement improvements
  • Develop and maintain documentation for HPC systems and processes
HPC Engineer Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 1+ years of experience in GPU programming with NVIDIA technologies
  • Proficient knowledge of CUDA programming
  • Experience with SLURM workload manager
  • Strong Linux/Unix administration skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
HPC Engineer Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with NVIDIA H100 GPUs
  • Background in scientific computing or machine learning
  • Experience with performance profiling and optimization tools
  • Knowledge of modern HPC networking technologies
  • Containerization experience (Docker, Singularity)
