DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide case assistance to BRC Senior Center serving approximately 150 members a day. BRC Senior Center offers seniors affordable nutritious meals coupled with educational and recreational activities to maintain and enhance quality of life. Case worker’s responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with the intake process; familiarity with entitlements; provide linkages and referrals to community resources; escort/accompany clients to field trips; keep detailed and accurate case logs; provide crisis intervention; translate verbal and written presentations; responsible for daily accurate attendance entry of all activities and lunch ;lead group workshops and activities; assist with meal distribution; and on-going and regular participation in BRC approved training courses. Provide emergency first aid/CPR assistance when needed. Related duties as assigned. Reports to Program Director.

HOURS:

Full-time 35 hours per week

  • Monday-Friday 8am-4pm

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required qualifications: Bachelors Degree or Associates degree and a few years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of BA. Bilingual in Chinese required. CPR training certification or willingness to take training class in CPR. Willingness to obtain food handler’s license.

Preferred qualifications: Experience working with the senior and/or Chinese immigrant population. Familiarity with NYC Dept for the Aging. CPR training certification or willingness to take training class in CPR.

*Vaccination preferred but not required.
