Position Summary: 

Assists in the entire sales process from the planning stage, from the initial client meeting to running the event and carrying out the post-event evaluation of all event spaces. This position will hire, train and manage a team of staff and create an energized and positive work environment that results in the delivery of exceptional guest service, according to 6PM Hospitality’ Core Values and 6PM Hospitality and Hilton standards. As well as going above and beyond to ensure that guests are 100% satisfied. Manage all aspects of the Sales and Events department in the absence of the Director of Sales.

Essential Functions: 

 ·        Report to work in professionally appropriate attire, presented neat, and clean 

·        Greet all guests in a friendly, positive manner. Ask questions of guests and make personal connections to make them feel they are welcome and valued  

·        Anticipate and meet the needs and expectations of our guests, then go one step further 

·        Lead by example and uphold all 6PM Hospitality’s policies 

·        Hold Team Members accountable to the standards of employment and job performance set by the Core Values of 6PM Hospitality and Hilton. Discipline Team Members as needed, according to 6PM Hospitality’s policies 

·        Assist with hiring, training, and evaluating Sales and Banquet Team Members 

·        Perform property walk-arounds each day and address all issues encountered. Report any issues to the appropriate department and General Manager 

·        Continually explore and contact potential new sales sources according to 6PM Hospitality standards 

·        Perform sales calls; Schedule calls/visits to assess on-going needs of prospective clients  

·        Promote, advertise, and market the property (rooms/event space) 

·        Follow up on goals and action plans weekly to ensure hotels are building loyalty and increasing market share 

·        Maintain current and accurate files for all sales  

·        Compile and manage various sales and other reports detailing the operation of the department 

·        Help guests plan special events including menus, entertainment, theme, decorations, and other aspects 

·        Provide tours and offer suggestions in effort to sell the hotel/catering facilities for the occasion being planned 

·        Assist the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Director to determine selling prices, menus, and other details for catered events 

·        Create client event contracts and accept/process deposits  

·        Develop function BEO’s, Timelines, and Layouts to include updates and changes as required by clients and arrange prompt payment for all events 

·        Follow up with client after each function to ensure expectations have been met and prospect future business 

·        Handle all guest complaints according to 6PM Hospitality Partners, LLC and Hilton standards 

·        Assure the neatness, cleanliness, and safety of all front of house and back of house banquet areas 

·        Assist in service, set up, and clean-up of all banquet functions, including the opening and closing of bar operations, cash handling and reporting, as well as lighting and sound equipment owned by the property 

·        Assist in conducting and reporting monthly and quarterly inventory of alcohol, beverages, and glass/service ware 

·        Maintain knowledge of event menu items and their contents, as well as appropriate table settings, service ware, and correct preparation  

·        Update and maintain all inquiry management platforms 

·        Follow all 6PM Hospitality processes  

·        Assist with payroll as needed per the Director of Sales  

·        Ensure all event shifts are always covered, including weekends, holidays, call-ins, vacations, etc. making it fair for all Team Members and ensuring all job duties are covered  

·        Other duties as requested by management  

·        Maintain a positive attitude through the shift, and keep the Team Member morale high 

·        Exhibit regular and recurrent attendance records 

Position Requirements: 

Formal Education and Job-Related Experience: This position requires a minimum formal education of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with at least 3 years of job-related experience.  

License, Registration, and/or Certification Required. Strong interpersonal and communications skills.  Excellent driving record, valid driver’s license. SERV Safe, TIPs, CPR encouraged.

Workload Fluctuation: The workload required to perform this job requires ability to adapt to change 

Manual Skills: Significant portions (more than 50%) of daily assignments involve application of manual skills requiring motor coordination in combination with finger dexterity, e.g., typing, handwriting, or machine operations 

Physical Effort: Some portions (10- 50%) of daily assignments involve prolonged standing, transporting material or equipment, or lifting, moving, or carrying heavy (over 30 pounds) materials for intermittent periods throughout the day 

Physical Environment: Some portions (10-50%) of daily assignments involve exposure to dirt, odors, noise, or temperature / weather extremes.  Working surfaces may be un-level, slippery, or unstable 

Work Schedule: Work regularly requires and varies between day, evening, night, holiday, and weekend assignments.  Schedule varies according to business demands and needs 

Occupational Risks: Some portions (10- 50%) of daily assignments involve occupational risk, such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, injuries from falls, or back injury sustained with assisting in moving, lifting, or positioning equipment or materials 

Ergonomics Risks: Some portions (10 – 50%) of daily assignments involve ergonomic risk, such as regular repetitive tasks, forceful or prolonged exertions of the hands, vibration, cold temperatures, heavy lifting, pulling, pushing, or carrying of heavy objects, poor body mechanics, restrictive workstations, or awkward postures 

Safety: Responsible for adhering to all safety policies and procedures of 6PM Hospitality 

Required Travel: This is an in-person, on-property position. Position does involve travel to other 6PM Hospitality properties, client locations, and off-site meetings
