Job Description

Job Summary :

This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating proactive maintenance work performed at the site, with the objective of minimizing total maintenance cost and effort, by maximizing maintenance work force efficiency and productivity.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for initial screening of incoming work orders, identification of scope, and analysis or required level of planning

  • Maintains records of service cycles and other maintenance activities

  • Coordinates work with the production department to ensure that all equipment and machinery is functioning to full capacity

  • Coordinates priority setting with the management team – places specific emphasis on obtaining the input of operations personnel in the setting of priorities

  • Manages PM/PM maintenance planning of all machinery and equipment

  • Plans jobs with appropriate level of detail for the given skilled trades workforce

  • Assists in determining corrective actions needed to improve the accuracy of estimating and improving methods of doing the work

  • Analyzes costs to recommend corrective action needed to reduce maintenance costs

  • Assists the Maintenance management and Operations partners in periodic analysis of cost trends with recommendations for continual improvements

  • Performs long-range and short –range planning which include the regular analysis of backlog relative to available resources

  • Complies with all safety rules and regulations

  • Communicates with contractor resources directly on specific work orders assigned to the contractors and the performance expectations of the work order

  • Negotiates competitive quoting on equipment or services needed

  • Project Management/Support responsibilities may be assigned by the Engineering/Maintenance Department Head

  • Adheres to Fiberon's safety guidelines

  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications:
Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees and elicit work output
  • Understanding of production processes & technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical concepts required
  • Proficient in CMMS with a grasp of financial factors in maintenance
  • Basic Spreadsheet and Word Processing (Excel, Word)
  • Project Management Software (MS Project)
  • Able to read and interpret vendor manuals and drawings
  • Able to communicate with shop floor personnel, vendors, OEM suppliers, and management personnel
  • Ability to perform some level of cost analysis and work within a structured budget
  • Able to develop and deliver a clear and concise presentation when required
  • Ability to manage extensive projects
  • Able to work towards specific goals and objectives with limited daily oversight

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ direct manufacturing experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ planning/scheduling
  • 2 years’ college and/or technical school preferred
  • Purchasing experience a plus
