This is an Onsite position in Gering Nebraska.

Community Action Partnerships of Western Nebraska (CAPWN) is a non-profit community-based health and human services organization that serves low-income, disadvantaged and those unable to meet their needs through other sources. The agency was established in 1965 and provides services to over 9,000 individuals, children and families in three main areas:
  • Community Health Services: WIC, Commodity Supplemental Food, Foster Grandparents, Migrant Seasonal Head Start, and Child Development Center.
  • Clinical Health Services: Primary Care, Reproductive Health, Diabetes Management, Immunizations, Migrant Health, Ryan White HIV; Behavioral Health including Counseling Services, Medication Management, Medication Assisted Treatment and Substance Use Counseling and Intensive Outpatient Services and Dental Services.
  • Supportive Health Services: Family Stabilization, a Teen Outreach Program, SOAR, Youth Leadership Program, Youth Shelter and Housing Assistance Programs.

Health Information Systems Analyst

Full-time, 8AM to 5PM, Monday-Friday

This is an Onsite position in Gering Nebraska.

Job Title: Health Information Systems Analyst

Reports To: Health Information Systems Manager

Areas of Responsibility: Assist the Health Information Systems Manager with developing and supporting standard operating procedures for clinical information systems, service call resolution and triage, staff training and onboarding, auditing, and leading the Clinic Super-User team.

Major Duties:
  1. Assist the Health Information Systems Manager with establishing Standard Operating Procedures to enhance and support clinical system usage and functionality.
  2. Provide call-center style support and one-call resolution for system users, while triaging and assigning more complex issues to Heartland Helpdesk, Clinic Systems Technician, and Health Information Systems Manager.
  3. Act as lead clinical systems super-user to provide support and training to other super-users and clinical staff for existing and new clinical information systems.
  4. Assist all clinical departments with creating and updating clinical workflows and training materials that reflect current practices and system functionality.
  5. Assist the Health Information Systems Manager with auditing clinical system proficiency.
  6. Collaborate with the Health Information Systems Manager and other clinic managers in designing custom training materials and events.
  7. Assist the Health Information Systems Manager in working with system vendors and other partners to ensure clinical system operability.
  8. Maintain client confidentiality.
  9. Participate in the Health Information Technology committee.
  10. Attend meetings, in-services and trainings as required

Working Conditions:
  • Well-lit, temperature controlled clinical setting, with standard medical and office equipment available.
  • Work requires the ability to meet tight timelines.
  • Work in a program with possible interruptions and interactions.
  • May work irregular hours.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and crouch
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
  • Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
  • Fine manipulation of hands with repetitive action.
  • Operate office machines.
  • Must regularly talk, hear, and have close vision ability to record and communicate appropriate documents and records.


Minimum Qualifications:

Grade: 9
  1. Two years of experience in office procedures, computer software use, data entry; data management preferably in health clinic setting.
  2. Electronic Medical Record experience preferred
  3. Age 21 or above.
  4. Requires working knowledge of computers and computer systems.
  5. Requires proficient level of use of the Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point.
  6. Requires proficient level of oral and written communications and ability to work as a team.
Grade: 10
  1. Meet the minimum qualifications above.
  2. AA degree in Business, Health Care or related field or three years of experience with computer software programs.
