The Role:

Cognizant is looking for an experienced and innovative Java Dev w/ AWS to serve our diverse base of global clients. As a member of our team, you will build cutting edge, cloud-based software that powers modern business. An ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a diverse, collaborative, geographically distributed team. Location: Hartford - CT Roles & Responsibilities :
  • Develop and maintain high-quality software solutions using AWS Spring Boot and Java.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements for Property & Casualty Insurance applications.
  • Design and implement scalable and efficient software architectures.
  • Ensure the performance quality and responsiveness of applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.
  • Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the software remains current and competitive.
  • Participate in agile development processes including sprint planning daily stand-ups and retrospectives.
  • Develop and execute unit tests to ensure software reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline deployment processes and ensure smooth production releases.
  • Document software designs code and processes for future reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development practices and processes.
Qualifications:
  • 5 to 8years of experience
  • Possess strong expertise in AWS Spring Boot and Java.
  • Have extensive experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance domain.
  • Demonstrate excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Exhibit strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Show proficiency in agile development methodologies.
  • Have a solid understanding of software development best practices.
  • AWS Services: Proficient in AWS Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3, ALB, IAM, and RDS.
  • Programming Languages: Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Security: Knowledge of security best practices, including IAM roles, policies, and security groups.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $68,422K - $114,000K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
