Physician Practice Operations Manager

Provides leadership and direction in supporting all day-to-day market operations of physician offices in the greater Houston area. Primary responsibilities will include (but not limited to): Coordinates activities and functions of physician offices to ensure effective, efficient, and high-quality office operations. Helps to support performance objectives for each office and holds both self and others accountable for meeting set objectives, outcomes, goals, timetables, commitments, and adherence to standards. Promotes and maintains positive, professional relationships with customers, physicians, office staff, and leadership team. Works with billing vendor to coordinate management of accounts receivable to keep previously determined metrics within targeted aging percentage. In collaboration with Senior Principal, responsible for interviewing, selection, orientation, training, performance evaluations, recognition, corrective action/progressive discipline, and terminations of staff (where applicable). Fosters teamwork and collaboration within the office and the broader organization to provide excellent customer service and to identify and implement best practices. Collaborates with physicians on processes to maintain a seamless practice. As barriers and operational challenges are identified, works to quickly resolve and address issues in a timely manner. Takes an active role in ensuring that providers have the support and tools they need to operate efficiently. In collaboration with vendors and business leads, consistently utilizes critical thinking skills to synthesize available information to make informed decisions. Fosters creativity, innovation, and divergent thinking in self and others. Manages complex situations using appropriate sources of information and advice. Prioritizes, proposes, and leads operational projects and system changes as directed. Maintains a safe work environment that prevents and/or reduces risks to the organization, patients, and staff. Delegates tasks to vendors and other appropriate business areas (where applicable). Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications should include High School diploma and related health care management experience equivalent to bachelor’s degree . Minimum of 7-10 years of successful experience managing or directing staff in a healthcare setting (previous office management experience in a physician office; multi-site practice management experience preferred). Proven demonstration of critical thinking skills. Proven demonstration of appropriate sense of urgency and effective prioritization skills. Ability to effectively listen and communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization. Proven demonstration of effective leadership characteristics both leading and motivating people as well as the capacity to effectively take direction. Capacity to effectively handle human resource management issues as they occur. Proven demonstration of personal accountability and the ability to work independently to effectively and efficiently perform assigned duties. Computer skills to include functional knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to travel up to 75% of the time to offices in the metro Houston area If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
