Ultra Maritime - Sonobuoy Systems has an immediate need for a Manufacturing Applications Developer 2. The candidate will support the software needs of the manufacturing operations as we grow the business and modernize production practices.
The Advanced Manufacturing team's mission is to support operational teams and adopt industry 4.0 strategies.
We are seeking a qualified and talented Application Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting, designing, and coding functional programs and applications. You will collaborate with a team of professionals, but also work independently with minimal supervision.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent knowledge of at least one programming language and have a strong understanding of various operating systems and platforms. An analytical mindset and attention to detail are essential qualities for success in this role. You will be successful if you are an insightful continuous learner.
Your primary objective as an Application Developer will be to write clean and flawless code, ensuring the development of fully functional software applications that meet specific requirements.

Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Understand client requirements and how they translate in application features
  • Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for new applications
  • Design creative prototypes according to specifications
  • Write high quality source code to program complete applications within deadlines
  • Perform unit and integration testing before launch
  • Conduct functional and non-functional testing
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications
  • Evaluate existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features
  • Develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code
Required Skills
  • 4+ years of professional software development experience
  • Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.
  • 1+ years of experience working in or supporting a manufacturing environment
  • 1 + years experience with a back-end language like Python, C#, Java or similar.
  • 1+ years experience with a front-end language like HTML/CSS/JS, ReactJS, AngularJS or similar
  • 3 + years experience in database design using Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle SQL, MySQL or similar
  • 1 + years experience with Microsoft Reporting Services, Power BI, Tableau or similar
  • 3 + years experience writing block diagrams, ER diagrams and test flow diagrams
  • Desire and willingness to follow a controlled development cycle and release process
  • Industry experience in Manufacturing and or Logistics
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts
  • Experience with Version Control systems such as Github, Gitlab, Bitbucket or similar
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar field with 4+ years of experience or Masters Degree with 2+ years of experience.
  • Knowledge of REST based Web Services like Microsoft-IIS, Apache or similar
  • Experience with Epicor, Oracle or similar ERP system
  • 2-year degree + 4 years of experience or 4-year degree + 2 or more years experience.
Desired Skills:
  • Oracle Application Express (APEX) experience
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience and exposure designing and supporting a variety of distributed systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory security concepts
  • Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition Software
  • Experience with National Instruments LabView
