Job Description Summary

The Business Systems Analyst plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business objectives and technology solutions. This position is responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing systems that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. The Business Systems Analyst will work closely with stakeholders, including business leaders, IT professionals, and end-users to understand their needs and translate them into functional requirements. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, technical expertise, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences. This role requires a proactive approach to problem solving, a keen understanding of business operations, and the capability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment. The Business Systems Analyst is instrumental in driving strategic initiatives and ensuring that technology solutions align with business goals.

Essential Duties

  • Responsible for providing ongoing maintenance and support of internal software systems
  • Aptitude to solve complex problems by analyzing variables and applying solutions
  • Providing support and improving automated processes, streamlining critical business processes, data integrity, process compliance, and security for all internal business systems
  • Experience writing reports and providing data analysis to meet business needs
  • Participate in a variety of assignments that provide for the enhancement, integration, maintenance, and implementation of projects
  • Experience gathering requirements and writing functional/technical specifications for complex projects
  • Experience contributing to the design documents, report design, mockups, and test scenarios for stakeholder and user review and approval
  • Write high-level functional requirements documents and assist team members in developing full standard operating documents
  • Assist in designing IT solutions, training content, test plans, and data validation
  • Continuous Improvement by staying up to date with new technologies and leading special projects as required
  • Work with and mentor business users on system abilities
  • Assist with user issues via calls, discussions, and testing
  • Create ad-hoc reports upon user request


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field
  • 1-5 years of business experience with business ERP and analysis computer systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Passion for learning business systems and processes to work and understand the needs of all internal business departments and users to support the company solutions and provide market-leading data capabilities
  • Fundamental knowledge of project management
  • Understanding of data communications, data processing, and application development
  • Must have good experience with SQL
  • Ability to gather facts, define needs, opportunities, and problems, working with business users to devise solutions
  • Experience with SQL ERP Business Systems (ECI Macola a plus, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, Acumatica, Epicor, SAP Business Online)
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerBI or other SQL analytical tools
  • Experience with SQL to develop SQL scripts for report-writing requirements
  • Experience with Microsoft .NER or Microsoft Power Apps a plus

  • Experience with Macola
  • Attention to detail and focus on quality
  • Results-oriented, taking the lead with little supervision and working closely with all fellow teammates
  • Experience with Microsoft data warehouse or data lake a plus
  • Experience with distribution and manufacturing a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work with any user at their level and present information clearly
