Position Summary:

We are seeking a creative and passionate Apparel Designer as a key player in our team. This exciting opportunity will allow you to design innovative and stylish activewear that resonates with our brand's vintage/heritage image. In this collaborative role, you will work closely with merchandising to ensure that our designs are not only on-trend and on-brand but also aligned with sales objectives and market needs. If you have a keen eye for color, a strong sense of fashion, and a desire to contribute to a brand on the rise, we want to hear from you. We are open to part time freelance or full time for this role and salary is commiserate with schedule.

Major Responsibilities:

    Design seasonal collections, considering merchandising plans, sales needs, pricing targets and emerging trends.

    Develop color pallets that align with both trends and sales objectives.

    Research and identify marketplace trends and perform competitive analysis.

    Produce and present seasonal concepts, color palettes and designs to merchandising, sales and senior management during seasonal design workshops. 

      Manage design projects independently while collaborating with Head of Merchandising and Company Principals.

      Work closely with Product Development to ensure accurate and timely execution of designs and source fabrics and trims. 

      Attend proto fittings, addressing changes and fit corrections as needed.

      Create complete tech packs for initial proto development including generating detail flats and black line artwork. 

      Create and maintain fashion sketches and seasonal CAD line sheets. 

Qualifications:

      5 + years experience in fashion design, with a focus on activewear or stretch fabrics.

      High taste level with proven ability to create appealing and commercially viable collections.

      Strong collaboration skills, thriving in a team environment. 

      Ability to create and deliver effective and compelling product presentations.

      Proficiency in creating detailed tech packs and sketches. 

      Deadline oriented with ability to manage and adhere to time and action calendars.

      Expertise in CAD, Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and other design software.

Adaptable, flexible, with a positive, can-do attitude.
