Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Online Graduate Programs Advising Assistant with Kogod's Online Programs Team will be asked to complete the following items:

  • Make calls to our online graduate students who have not registered for classes to remind them to register.
  • Keep a record of students called and whether or not registration has taken place.
  • Make note of advising related concerns the student may have and relay those to the Assistant Director for Graduate Programs
  • Send out emails to students as needed.
  • Other tasks as noted by Assistant Director of Graduate Programs and/or Kogod Graduate Advising Team.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
  • 10-15 hours per week.
  • $17.75/hour.
Education Requirements:
  • American University graduate student in good academic and university standing.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Incumbent must be an enrolled graduate student at American University.
  • Incumbent must have moderate to excellent Excel skills.
  • Incumbent should be available at least 10-15 hours per week.

  • Kogod graduate student
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Self-starter
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
