Department Overview

Comprehensive interdisciplinary initial evaluation, follow-up and management of congenital and acquired endocrine disorders, including: diabetes, growth problems, thyroid disorders, etc. This department also provide an education program for children and their families that includes diabetes management and nutrition counseling as well as resources, support groups, for children and their families.

Position Summary

This position will provide services in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Woodbury, Minnetonka and Maple Grove.

The Diabetes Educator providers education and consultation to patients, families, and staff, as well as the professional and lay community. This includes information on medications, treatments, equipment operating, coping with a chronic illness and other related topics. The Diabetes Educator participates in research projects, team activities, professional organizations and other projects as needed. Diabetes educator's schedule will include weekdays, weekends, holiday coverage and clinic time.

Qualifications:

Current RN licensure in Minnesota. Current BLS certification. CDE certification preferred. BS or BA degree required. Three years pediatric healthcare experience with a focus in diabetes care preferred.

The posted pay range represents rates for a grouping of multiple jobs within a salary grade. We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Children's Minnesota.
