Sentara is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer specializing in managing a hybrid environment with both On-Premises and Microsoft Azure based technologies and services. In addition to managing virtual Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) including compute, storage and network environments, the candidate must have experience with Azure Monitor, Azure Functions, Azure App Services, Azure Platform as a Service (PaaS) and overall integration of services. Working knowledge of automation languages such as PowerShell, Python, C# and Open Source. Familiarization with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) is a plus.

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer specializing in Microsoft Azure, you are the primary support and engineering contact accountable for the customer's Azure support experience driving resolution of complex critical problems and supporting key customer projects. You will also act as the voice of the customer within Microsoft Azure to escalate problems and to drive prioritization of platform and support improvement needs.

Job Summary

An Infrastructure Engineer's role includes updating hardware required for maintenance of servers and storage, fixing any connectivity issues that could crop up, detecting system and application issues, and ensuring the smooth flow of data and voice throughout the organization.

IT infrastructure engineers manage the security of computer systems and inter-application information transfers. They ensure optimum uptime for complete services, storage, and servers. The engineer also improves plans capacity and design for infrastructure engineering projects.

A Senior Professional applies advanced knowledge of job areas typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Responsibilities typically include: * Managing projects/processes, and working independently with limited supervision. * Coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals. * Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.
Experience in lieu of Bachelor's Degree

5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree

7+ years of relevant experience without a Bachelor's degree

Relevant certifications preferred

Qualifications:

BLD - Bachelor's Level Degree
