Summary:
The Process Engineer I manages the entire cement manufacturing process. This position analyzes the process and suggests ways to improve operations.
What you'll be contributing:
- Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
- Analyzes the cement production process and implements changes for optimal operating conditions for fuel efficiency, electrical efficiency and production rate.
- Participates in the training of the control room operators on the proper ways of using plant equipment.
- Works closely with shift process teams to ensure mills and pyro lines are consistently operated at peak efficiency.
- Performs programming of the plant's programmable control systems and provides maintenance, documentation and improvements for computerized process systems.
- Performs performance testing and measurements on production equipment.
- Maintains equipment performance records including wear part life history.
- Provide technical support to the Production Department to achieve objectives of maximizing plant production of quality-controlled cement efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Optimizes process by testing, data gathering, sampling and in-house expertise to provide progressive solutions and enable continual improvement in the production process.
- Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
- Minimum of 3 year experience in mechanical, chemical engineering or closely related position.
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or closely related field.
- Proficient in analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform, organize and prioritize work independently.
- Proficient in English written, verbal communication, and listening skills.
- Knowledge of pyro processing, thermodynamics, heat transfer, air flow and related principles.
- Knowledge of PLC systems and instrumentation techniques and guidelines.
- Ability to make sound independent judgments regularly.
- Ability to work from general policies and objectives.
- Ability to refer to supervisor when clarification or interpretation of organizational policy is in question.
