Basic Function

The position of Maintenance Technician 4 is responsible for maintaining the electrical and mechanical equipment of the plants by effectively and efficiently using the available resources of the plants. The incumbent evaluates the site's operating status and performs troubleshooting of processes, and repairs equipment in order to maximize unit reliability and quality production. The incumbent understands levels of downtime caused by equipment issues and associated points of cause and maintains communication with others inside and outside their department. #LI-TF1

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Plans and organizes workloads and assignments of the maintenance technicians. Assures that tasks are performed within budget and the use of resources (i.e., staffing, materials, facilities and time) are used effectively and efficiently while complying with Company policies and procedures.
  • Performs repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment. Assist other technicians in the repair of equipment.
  • Helps to maintain the preventive maintenance program. Evaluates preventive maintenance schedules for all electrical and mechanical equipment. Monitors the progress of weekly preventative maintenance work orders.
  • Maintains records, prepares reports and other specialized maintenance records of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Orders/advises parts and supplies that are needed for shop and equipment.
  • Provides training based on individual needs or as directed by supervisor and/or job requirements.
  • Determines standard operating procedures with guidance from supervisor.
  • Participate in all safety related programs. Conduct regular safety observations to ensure that all employees are working safely and complying with all federal, state and local safety regulations, as well as company policies, practices, and procedures
  • Performs other duties of similar nature and scope as assigned by supervisor.
Min. Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • 2 or more years' experience in industrial/manufacturing maintenance.
  • Ability to use shop and hand tools, multi-meter, and Meg ohm meter.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance practices.
  • Ability to work overtime or weekends on short notice as needed; Provide On-Call Service when required.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematics skills.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Ability to work proactively and support other personnel and departments.
  • Possess a professional attitude.
  • Ability to multitask and utilize the time available to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
  • Maintain good attendance habits missing minimal work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of working with control and 480 volt electrical circuits preferred.
  • Electrical apprenticeship completion preferred.
  • Ability to weld carbon and stainless steel. Using a Mig and Stick welder.
  • PLC knowledge a plus.
  • Technical degree a plus.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Stand on feet for 8-12 hours.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
  • Willing and able to comply with respiratory fit testing (where applicable).
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required to be worn.
  • Ability to work in moderate noise level atmosphere.
  • Ability to work in an environment that is not temperature-controlled; very warm temperatures in summer months and very cold temperatures in winter months.
