Senior Digital Marketing Specialist

The Senior Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for supporting the organization's digital marketing strategy, with a primary focus of optimizing online presence, email marketing, and digital ad management. Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, this position will partner with marketing leadership to develop and implement an optimized email marketing strategy to increase engagement and lead generation across multiple audiences. Additionally, this position will be responsible for the management of digital ads across various brands, as well as partner with the broader Marketing team to support large-scale projects and events as needed.
This position is best suited for a driven individual with exceptional communication, time management and organization skills, as well as a passion for creating engaging content and experiences. The ideal candidate will also possess a strong knowledge of current best practices in digital marketing and Google ad management, advanced copywriting skills, and the ability to adapt to the ever-changing digital marketing landscape, developing news skills as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide digital marketing expertise and direct campaign support by managing the design, implementation, and maintenance of email marketing efforts
- Create branded email campaigns, including writing compelling email copy, ensuring all messaging utilizes the voice and tone appropriate for the specific audience
- Build and manage external email marketing content calendar, sending communications on behalf of various corporate departments
- Optimize and manage Google ads for various brands across the organization
- Implement A/B testing methodologies on ads and email campaigns to continuously improve performance metrics
- Track and analyze campaign performance to provide data-driven recommendations to department leaders and stakeholders
- Define key performance indicators and analyze performance to optimize tactics
- Assist with corporate website management and enhancement, including designing webpage layouts
- Implement strategies to drive high-quality traffic to the website and optimizing conversion paths to turn visitors into engaged leads
- Write, proofread, and edit creative and technical content across different mediums
- Research and monitor trends to ensure digital marketing strategies reflect current best practices
- Support monthly and quarterly department reporting efforts
- Support additional department projects and company events as needed
- Act as a brand steward for all entities across the Blue River PetCare network
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or relevant field. Or associate's degree with 6+ years of professional experience in a related field.

- 4+ years of experience in professional marketing-specific role (internships will not count towards this requirement)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, delegate, and meet deadlines
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong copywriting and content creation skills
- Working knowledge of Mailchimp (or equivalent platforms) preferred
- Strong knowledge of Google Ads platform
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization
- Veterinary or healthcare industry experience preferred, but not required. If no experience, must have the ability to quickly develop a strong working knowledge of the industry.
- Portfolio of previous work required
- Experience working with an organization with multiple audiences preferred
- Remain in a seated position at least 75% of the time
- Ability to navigate around the office to access file cabinets, supplies, office machinery, etc
- Ability to communicate with others via in-person verbal communication, as well as frequent emails and phone calls
- Must be able to exchange clear, accurate information in these situations.
- Ability to utilize a computer, keyboard and mouse when working
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs
- Must be able to travel domestically via plane and motor vehicle as needed
- Graphic design skills with experience working in Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva
- Experience building and managing content calendars
- Working knowledge of email marketing platforms, such as Mailchimp
- Working knowledge of common marketing and analytics tools
- Strong knowledge of Google Ads platform
- Experience with wireframe tools such as Figma (or equivalent platforms) to create visually effective and functional webpage layouts
- Proficiency with WordPress preferred but not required
- Working knowledge of SEO best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional writing skills, including composition, grammar, and spelling
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Exceptional time management and organization skills
