The project manager will be responsible for supporting the overall project budget, labor cost oversight, billing, procurement, and vendor management for the New Tower IT Program management team. Projects for the new tower range in size from medium to large complex efforts. The project management role for this position will apply project financial knowledge and skills to help manage the cost and budget for the New Tower to meet IT related delivery requirements against a baseline of cost, schedule, and scope.

Position Summary

As a member of the OSUWMC IT Portfolio Management Office, the Project Manager is a leader of healthcare IT projects covering clinical patient care, research, education and shared services. The Project Manager leads these projects through initiation, planning, execution and closure phases as they move from design, to build, to installation, go-live, training and ultimately into the customers operational state. Project initiatives at the OSU Wexner Medical Center involve multiple technologies, integrated systems, business unit functions and customers. The Project Manager performs the essential functions required to ensure consistent, quality, successful delivery of assigned projects, while managing competing demands of scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, and stakeholder expectations. The Project Manager will have a solid core skill set as well as the ability to interact with all levels of staff, executives and possibly even patients. The Project Manager will need to have the ability to balance and coordinate numerous priorities and demonstrate qualities of trust, teamwork and transparency while ensuring that every project is managed to maximize customer satisfaction.

*This is a Term (Fixed Term) position working 40 scheduled weekly hours (100% FTE). This position will end on or before 07/01/2026.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Technology or relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three (3+) years experience in role where responsible for specific technologies, specialties and/or disciplines (e.g. applications development, networking, telephony, data base administration, etc.)
