Job Description

We are searching for a Therapy Supervisor for Women's Therapy - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will supervise therapy staff, promote program development, assist in daily operations related to the provision of therapy services, provide clinical direction to therapists, technicians and students and to plan, evaluate, organize, design and implement treatment techniques and programs in a developmentally and age appropriate manner for patients ages 0 - adulthood within the scope of demonstrated competencies.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Required - Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, or Speech Therapy
  • PT License in the State of Texas OR OT License in the State of Texas , OR TX-SLP - Texas Speech Language Pathology
  • 5 years Clinical experience. (Clinical Residency experience may be counted at a premium on a 1:2 Ratio required
As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates staffing schedules and approves/denies time-off requests according to hospital guidelines. Works with staff to plan a schedule that meets the needs of the employee without compromising the needs of the department. Ensures that the appropriate planning and long term considerations are made when granting time off/special schedule requests. Posts schedule in a timely manner and consistently updates the staff schedules to reflect actual time worked. Ensures adequate staff coverage and scheduling of PRN staff.
  • In conjunction with Therapy Mgr., , supervises and utilizes team members and support personnel to ensure efficient and effective operation of the department and help staff improve their personal productivity; is creative in finding ways to improve the overall productivity of the department
  • Completes patient evaluations and reassessments in accordance with hospital guidelines.
  • Develops an individualized plan of care based upon evaluation/reassessment findings according to hospital guidelines.
  • In collaboration with patient and family, develops measurable long term and short term goals.
  • Plans, coordinates and presents educational in-services to department staff, hospital staff, physicians or community in collaboration with educators
  • Participates in the design and development of the department new employee/volunteer orientation. Offers ongoing feedback into orientation process. Orients new staff
  • Facilitates/promotes program development and departmental/interdepartmental Performance Improvement
  • Meets all (100%) institutional and departmental health, safety and training requirements prior to merit review date through attending all (100%) required OSHA, communicative diseases, fire, safety and infection control in services and other hospital/departmental health, safety and training in services
