Responsibilities Job Summary The DevOps Engineer II designs, develops and automates applications, databases or infrastructure to enable Development and IT Operations (DevOps). The engineer brings wealth of process knowledge and technical skills to install, manage and roll out automation tools and processes. In addition, the DevOps Engineer will be an evangelist for promoting application development lifecycle and ensure the teams automate the processes and adhere to the standards and best practices. The engineer will be responsible for supporting QA and application support teams in identifying and automating the systems/processes. DevOps engineer must possess communication and management skills to oversee and manage multiple teams continually working on updating sections of code, testing updated sections, and deploying them. DevOps engineer needs to be familiar with troubleshooting techniques and fixing code bugs Architect and implement the infrastructure for building, testing, deploying, tuning and troubleshooting production, staging and development systems. Scripting and coding of automation services and platforms. Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) management and automation. Infrastructure management and monitoring. Develop code, test, and implement web pages, user interfaces, system interfaces and data deliverables using a variety of programming and scripting languages, applications, and systems. Design and manage our monitoring/performance analysis/alerting systems. Writing specifications and documentation Advise development team on best practices throughout the design process of their applications, to ensure that they can be delivered to manageable and highly available production environment. Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree OR 5 years work related experience in Computer Science or related degree Required Experience 5 years Relevant experience in developing automation, writing code, scripting, monitoring, and implementing CI/CD solutions within the organization. Scripting including Bash or PowerShell scripts, coding in PHP, Python, Java, C#, C++ etc., DevOps/Infrastructure, Test Automation, Systems administration, and/or development. Required 3 years Experience in open-source automation tools (Git, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, Nagios, Bamboo, Bitbucket). Worked as a developer, schema administrator or one of the members of the DevOps team. Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux OS, processing limits and networking. Required 3 years Experience in databases including MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL, Elastic Search Required Working knowledge of Application Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Required
