About Us

We are a dynamic team that manages a Business Intelligence product for our logistics customers and creates/explores new Business Intelligence concepts for data driven decision making with our internal business teams. You will be working in a small team with a broad stack of knowledge primarily centered in Tableau, PowerBI, Python, and .Net. Your main role will be to aid in the design of end-to-end data pipelines from the extract, transform, and load process (ETL) down to the visualization layer.

You are a data wizard, and you are energized by challenging projects blending data together to offer powerful insights. As an experienced Business Intelligence Developer, you are confident applying data engineering principles to your projects regardless of the desired codebase all the while having an eye for process automation. Our team of developers are always striving to learn and upskill and if you have the grit and determination we are happy to take the right person on the journey.

MUST BE ABLE TO COME INTO SCHAUMBURG, IL OFFICE ONCE A WEEK

We're looking for people who can come into our office at least one day per week, if not more.

Required Skills

  • SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
  • 3+ Years with Python
  • Power BI and Tableau
  • Hands on experience in creating SSAS tabular models
  • Hands on experience in writing intermediate to complex SQL
  • Strong Data Engineering skills and a good understanding of common data modeling concepts
  • Ability to work independently

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Change Data Capture (CDC)
  • Understanding of .NET and C#
  • Git source control
  • Tableau Server Deployments
  • Linux
  • Familiarity with the Snowflake platform
  • Familiarity with AWS services
  • Kafka experience
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IAS) concepts

Responsibilities

  • Gather report requirements
  • Implement ETL (extract-transform-load) scripts
  • Model tables and relationships downstream of extractions from disparate sources of data
  • Develop visualizations in either PowerBI or Tableau
  • Product support: incoming customer requests for software or visualization issues on an as needed basis
  • Programming/developing new code for data pipelines
  • Update codebase for existing pipelines
  • Linux server maintenance
  • Creating visualizations
  • Writing documentation on codebase and product developments/improvements
