Registered Nurse Surgery

HealthPartners is hiring for a part-time RN in the Surgery department. Training will take place at the HealthPartners Specialty Center 401 Clinic upon hire, with a start date ASAP. This position will be located primarily at our HealthPartners Specialty Center 401 Clinic. Upon the anticipated September 5, 2024, opening of the New Apple Valley Clinic (15350 English Ave, Apple Valley, MN 55124), this position will be regularly scheduled at the Apple Valley Clinic two days per month and all other scheduled shifts will remain at the HealthPartners Specialty Center 401 Clinic. QUALIFICATIONS: Surgery: Minimum 1 year recent experience in surgery and a working knowledge of infection control and surgical procedures REQUIRED: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current RN licensure in Minnesota Current RN licensure in Wisconsin within two months of hire Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable Strongly demonstrated written and oral communication skills PREFERRED: One year full time employment as an RN PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods at a time. Must possess speech, hearing and sight skills to perform the functions of the position. Manual dexterity required. Must be able to speak, read and write English proficiently. Proficiency in other languages may be required. Some positions may have lifting requirements. Performance is up to standard when: Uses health coaching techniques to elicit patient goals and priorities to develop individualized patient action plans Uses population management tools such as registries to identify high risk patients and track, monitor and follow-up with their care Engages, assesses readiness to learn and educates patients and families to implement strategies to reach a desired goal or care intervention Identifies and secures patient services needed for patient care Informs and supports patients and families to assist them in making informed decisions and navigate the healthcare system. Education: Definition: Education imparts knowledge designed to develop skills, to enhance decision-making, and to promote understanding.
