ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - Contingent worker

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
  • Under general direction, provides general administrative and staff support to a department or group of professionals.
  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes moderately complex data and information. Composes straightforward written descriptions of results.
  • Requires the ability to exercise independent judgment and employ basic reasoning skills. May assist in budget preparation and control activities.
  • May assist in the preparation and control of records, statistics, and reports regarding operations, personnel changes, etc.
  • Administers programs, projects, and/or processes specific to the operating unit served.
  • May serve as administrative liaison with others within and outside the company regarding administrative issues related to purchasing, personnel, facilities and operations.
  • May screen and interview job applicants and orient new employees.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIRED FOR THE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
  • High school diploma required
  • 3+ years of administrative experience
  • Problem Solving: Solves moderately complex problems; makes recommendations to improve standard procedures and/or processes.
  • Customer Response: Anticipates and understands customer needs and identifies solutions to nonstandard requests.
  • Planning and Organizing: Manages own time to meet objectives and is proactive in offering help to others.
  • Teamwork: Contributes to achievement of team goals within own area or department; promotes teamwork through understanding of broader team goals.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work with confidential information.
  • Ability to work under frequently changing priorities.
  • Organizational skills. Problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of various software applications including Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel. Knowledge of business English, spelling and punctuation.
  • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures.
