Plan, organize, and oversees the daily activities of crew, including designating material staging areas, overseeing and training individuals in restoration installations, crew personnel management, scheduling, and issues. The foreman will be responsible for assuring that the work is performed in the safest, highest quality, and most cost-effective manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Thoroughly review documents assigned by PM/CM including scope of work, materials lists, schedules, and job site contacts.
  • Ensure that proper safety and equipment is on site and used properly. Foreman must coordinate these needs with the PM but is ultimately responsible.
  • Supervise and support crew every day regarding safety, quality, and productivity. Monitor and maintain jobsite cleanliness and daily housekeeping.
  • Ensure that all materials received are inventoried and quantities match the ordered quantities.
  • Proactively manage material inventories to provide adequate materials for production needs and prevent delays due to material shortages.
  • Make sure equipment inspections are performed and service scheduled as required. Notify supervisor immediately if equipment is defective or broken.
  • Communicate with the PM daily regarding job progress, obstacles, technical questions, etc.
  • Complete all daily recordkeeping as directed by Dept. Head.
  • Responsible for overall safety compliance and quality control on their jobsite This includes watertightness, completion of all tasks/work items and cleanup of the site.
  • Install joint sealants (liquid applied and pre-formed).
  • Prepare substrates and perform concrete repair (horizontal, vertical, and overhead).
  • Perform masonry restoration (historic and modern).
  • Perform stucco/EIFS installation and/or repair.
  • Install air, water, and vapor barriers.
  • Apply coatings to building surfaces.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry items weighing 50 pounds regularly.
  • Operating vehicles, mechanized devices, and equipment.
  • Train and coach other employees.
  • Assure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings (motor vehicle, drug, and background)
  • Must work safely and follow all OSHA, and other Federal, State, and local safety regulations and company safety rules and procedures
  • Can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical activities including, but not limited to: lifting objects weighing over 100 pounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, contractors, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner
  • Must be able to comprehend safety standards, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to understand information, ideas, direction and perform the task or project discussed.
  • Ability to climb and work at elevations (e. g. , from ladders) up to 18 feet
  • When working aloft, employee's weight and tools combined may not exceed the 280-pound weight limit as specified by the manufacturer
  • Must be able to properly use and handle toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Ability to use hands to grasp and reach with arms
  • Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas
  • Ability to repeatedly stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist throughout the workday and week
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or push/pull up to 30 pounds up to 50 feet
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 80 pounds up to 5 feet off the ground
  • Occasionally lift and/or push/pull approximately 120 pounds up to 25 feet
  • Occasionally lift approximately 120 lbs. to a surface approximately 12 inches off the ground
  • Ability to repeatedly operate a 12lb sledgehammer throughout the entire workday and week
  • Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift in all weather and temperature extremes
  • Vision adequate to perform all tasks
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Driver License with acceptable driving record
  • Years of Experience 1-3 years minimum in waterproofing, masonry restoration, and/or stucco/EIFS
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience required, or an equivalent of education and experience
  • Restoration experience in asphalt and concrete required
  • Experience operating mini-excavators beneficial but not required
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • May be required to work long and unpredictable hours including weekends
  • Working outdoors in all types of weather conditions
  • Bend/squat/kneel/stand frequently
  • Exposure to dust, fluctuating temperatures, and periodic high noise levels
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment as needed to perform job tasks
  • Regularly exposed to noise, dust, and various types of smells
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles
