Itinerant Occupational Therapist

We have partnered with Partners in Communication in their search for dedicated and compassionate Itinerant Occupational Therapists (OTs) to join their team in the greater Louisville, KY area. In this role, you will travel to various locations to provide occupational therapy services aimed at improving clients' physical status and independence in daily activities. You will work with clients to prevent further deterioration and help them achieve their highest possible level of functioning.

- Conduct Evaluations: Perform physician-ordered evaluations to assess clients' functioning in areas such as range of motion, strength, coordination, and activities of daily living.
- Develop Treatment Plans: Create and implement individualized treatment plans that guide clients in therapeutic, creative, and self-care activities.
- Provide Therapy: Administer occupational therapy procedures, including ADL training, exercises to improve strength and range of motion, and sensory stimulation techniques.
- Educate Caregivers: Offer written and verbal instructions to caregivers and family members on how to support clients' rehabilitation and maintenance programs.
- Document Progress: Maintain detailed daily notes, including progress toward outcomes, session times, and services provided.
- Ensure Safety: Evaluate clients' home environments and recommend necessary modifications to improve safety and accessibility.
- Collaborate with Team: Work closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
- Licensed by the State of Kentucky and eligibility with the American Occupational Therapy Association
- 2+ years of experience with demonstrated proficiency in clinical practices and treatment protocols preferred, but clinically strong and autonomous therapists with less experience and a positive attitude are encouraged to apply
- Superior oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including occasional lifting and using body mechanics during therapy sessions.
- Must be certified in CPR and First Aid from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross prior to working with patients
- Must maintain professional liability insurance
- Must be willing to provide your own equipment and have reliable transportation to and from client locations
