About the Role:
As an Assembler at Electron Energy Corporation, you'll play a critical role in our manufacturing process, assembling rare earth magnet materials and hardware according to customer specifications. You'll work diligently to optimize safety, follow work instructions and process control standards, interpret customer drawings, set up work areas, operate machinery, maintain equipment, and ensure accurate data recording to meet quality standards and production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize safety and minimize risk:
- Wear required PPE.
- Adhere to required safety precautions.
- Read, understand, and follow work instructions (WI) and process control standards (PCS):
- Access Paradigm to review and/or print WI or PCS.
- Recommend revisions and updates to the WI and PCS.
- Interpret customer drawings:
- Verify the drawing part number matches the manufacturing router.
- Review the drawing to obtain specified dimensions, features, tolerances, and customer requirements.
Set up work area:
- Select proper adhesive, tools, and fixtures as defined on data sheet.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of machinery, equipment, and work area.
- Request reorder of consumables as needed.
- Track epoxy inventory and expiration dates; reorder as needed.
- Operate machinery:
- Amend and record process details for assembly data sheets.
- Follow approved data sheets.
- Operate Bridgeport milling machine, ovens, and other specified equipment.
- Meet established quality standards and production rates.
- Verify and accurately record data into ERP Computer System and manufacturing router as required by work instructions.
- Perform in-process inspection as required.
- Adhere to EEC Escalation Policy.
Accountability of Employees:
- Use your best efforts and full capability to achieve the outputs assigned.
- When circumstances make it likely that outputs cannot be achieved, or that more could be done, inform your manager in time for adaptive action to be taken.
- Advise your manager when you have ideas you believe might be helpful.
- Seek special dispensation from your manager when you are unable to work at your best.
Mandatory Role Requirements:
- KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Requires a high school level education or equivalent.
-EXPERIENCE:
- Requires up to one year of experience.
-ROLE COMPLEXITY:
- Routine and diversified activities about evenly divided, solid basic understanding of specific facts/processes used with some discretion; impact of errors moderate, operates within limits of accepted practice.
- DEGREE OF INSPECTION:
- Requires periodic inspections using gauges and fixtures.
- RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACCURACY:
- Mistakes made may affect operations or production and result in dissemination of inaccurate information or obliging the company to take a moderate or significant financial loss.
- DECISION MAKING:
- Only minimal responsibility for meeting goals, few decisions made; follows set procedures, may suggest change with negligible influence on costs, revenue, and Company performance.
- CONTACTS WITH OTHERS/COMMUNICATIONS:
- Requires occasional verbal communication outside the department; some written communication such as logs, forms, or records required.
- SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
- Work done independently and that assigned by the supervisor is about evenly divided; the employee assumes some responsibility for finding and correcting errors, which may have a moderate impact on the company; the supervisor is clearly responsible for the work.
- TOOLS, MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED:
- Uses hand and/or bench power tools, or operates machines or instruments needing little or no adjustments, but requiring safe and efficient operating skills.
- RESPONSIBILITY FOR EQUIPMENT AND WORK AREA:
- This role has responsibility for minor maintenance and cleaning of the work area; probability of damage is minor, with minimal care required.
- RESPONSIBILITY FOR CONFIDENTIALITY:
- Has little or no responsibility for company security or confidentiality, except as generally required of every employee by company policy.
- HAZARDS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Low to moderate potential for minor injuries such as cuts or bruises.
- PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Role requires periodic physical and continuity of effort with some stress due to a diversity of problems or distractions which interfere.
