Director of Pricing

Must be able to go to the office in NJ and have previous pricing and promotions expertise.

As Director of Pricing, you will be responsible for overseeing the pricing and promotional needs of the organization, identifying the best pricing schemes for the company's products across an omni channel distribution matrix. To do this, you will analyze industry trends, current events, and study the target market and their spending behaviors to build pricing strategies by customer segment and products to maximize company profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic long term and promotional short-term pricing strategies.
  • Lead and direct pricing strategy formulation and take necessary pricing actions to enhance profitability, ensuring integrity and accuracy in all pricing matters.
  • Work directly with Sales & Finance Teams to set tangible product pricing.
  • Assist with pricing negotiations of customers' proposals.
  • Partner with buyers and key account managers to ensure integrated profit maximizing approach to market.
  • Assist with pricing/promo recommendations to sell excess/aged inventory.
  • Analyze financial impact of price approach in view of overall history as well as profitability of customer.
  • Liaise with the Finance team to validate all pricing and promotional proposals and commercial strategies.
  • Proactively monitor competitive pricing and highlight solutions to address price discrepancies.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with wholesale MAP pricing policies as well as Amazon pricing.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Finance or Marketing.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficient in using data analysis software, such as Excel, Jungle Scout or other CRM based tools to extract insights from large datasets.
  • Knowledge of pricing models, competitive analysis, market segmentation, and value-based pricing as well as a deep understanding of other pricing strategies and methodologies is required.
  • Solid understanding of financial concepts, such as profit margins, pricing elasticity, dynamic pricing and revenue forecasting.
  • Strong understanding of the market dynamics, including customer behavior, industry trends, and competitive landscape to aid in developing effective pricing strategies and lead the market.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders to align with pricing strategies and decisions, and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Sales and Finance.
