Now Hiring: Assembly Technician

Job Description

As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for carefully reading and understanding blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the assembly process. You will identify and gather necessary parts and materials, organize them, and ensure all tools are in good working condition. You will perform tasks such as wire cutting, stripping, labeling, drilling, and tapping, and assemble electrical components and sub-assemblies, ensuring they fit correctly and function as intended. Additionally, you will conduct power testing and resolve any issues that arise during testing to ensure the final product is fully functional. Maintaining a safe and clean working environment is also a key part of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

  • Identify and gather necessary parts and materials.

  • Organize required parts, sub-assemblies, tools, and materials before starting the assembly process.

  • Ensure all tools and materials are in good working condition.

  • Perform wire cutting, stripping, labeling, drilling, and tapping tasks.

  • Assemble electrical components such as circuit boards, switches, and connectors.

  • Integrate sub-assemblies into the main assembly, ensuring correct fitting and functionality.

  • Conduct power testing using knowledge of voltage, amperage, and loads.

  • Identify and resolve issues during testing to ensure the final product is fully functional.

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.

  • Basic understanding of electrical systems.

  • Familiarity with NEC codes.

  • Strong mechanical skills.

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.

  • Ability to work effectively with a team.

  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, basic understanding of electrical systems, and familiarity with NEC codes.

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical skills to handle various assembly tasks.

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to follow detailed instructions and ensure precision in assembly.

  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with a team of production specialists, engineers, and field teams.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

The work environment is climate-controlled. You will work in a small shop with four other Assembly Technicians.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
