Position Title: Lead Sanitation Technician

Reports to: Sanitation Manager

Position Description and Purpose:
Founded in 1923 and headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Roskam Foods is a leading contract manufacturer that partners with world-renowned food brands, retailers, and food service providers to produce a wide range of frozen, refrigerated, and shelf-stable products. With over 2 million square feet of manufacturing and 50 production lines across 8 facilities in the U.S. and Canada, Roskam Foods is committed to optimizing the potential of its people and products. As the Lead Sanitation Technician, you will ensure cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards are met while actively participating in hands-on cleaning and providing guidance to the sanitation team.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in the execution of cleaning and sanitization tasks.
- Train and mentor sanitation team members on cleaning techniques and best practices.
- Verify proper completion of cleaning tasks through physical inspections and ATP swabbing.
- Assist in the validation of cleaning and sanitization processes.
- Contribute to process improvements that increase cleaning and sanitation efficiency.
- Maintain sanitation tracking boards and manage sanitation work orders.
- Enforce compliance with 5S standards (sort, straighten, systematic cleaning, standardize, sustain).
- Participate in pre-clean meetings and ensure understanding of cleaning objectives.
- Collaborate in pest control efforts and ensure proper documentation.
- Understand and adhere to the Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Support internal and external audits, helping to address findings related to sanitation.
- Assist in evaluating and updating Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP).

Required and Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in food industry sanitation or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of sanitation practices, including allergen and microbiological control, and GMP compliance.
- Experience with SQF standards and sanitation verification techniques.
- Strong communication and team-building skills.
- Attention to detail, documentation skills, and ability to follow safety and regulatory guidelines.
- Pest Control Operator license preferred.
